Contractor supplied all labor, supervision, equipment, tools, materials, inspections and the legal disposal of materials to replace/modify or demo existing MEP service to equipment located in or associated with building 17H kitchen. Work scope included, but is not limited to, new conduit, wire-ways, receptacles and wiring, new electrical panel and breakers, fire system signal connection to shunts, Ansul spray heads relocated, new disconnects, wall/floor repairs, re-piping and the addition of drains, demolition of existing wire, pipe, conduit, receptacles, electrical panels that support ovens, sinks, refrigerators, griddles, mixers etc. as shown in the design drawings.
Hazmat materials (asbestos and lead) were present in isolated areas of the building 17H. Testing determined that areas indicated for direct modification/repair under the contract are negative for ACM/Lead materials. However, ACM materials were present adjacent to work areas, and contractors adhered to best practices working around materials identified as ACM throughout the construction.
Project required careful coordination between multiple contracting companies, as well as the VA kitchen service schedule. After-hours and short duration activities will be required. Special consideration was required by the contractor to work to a sequential construction schedule and the required limitations of time.
